Today the Health Council of Canada released Seniors in need, caregivers in distress: What are they home care priorities for seniors in Canada?, a look at the challenges and possible solutions for the growing need for homecare in Canada.

The number of home care recipients has increased significantly, yet the home care requirements of seniors with complex needs are not being met. Those with greater health care requirements receive only a few more hours of home care a week than those with just moderate needs, leaving a gap often filled by family caregivers.

Ottawa - The Rockcliffe Park Public Library Committee will hold a book sale of donated books and audiovisual materials on Saturday, April 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 15 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Rockcliffe Park Community Centre, 380 Springfield Road. Proceeds will support the Rockcliffe Park Branch of the Ottawa Public Library. Payment can be made by cash or cheque only.
